Please don't give me any fancy schmancy answers. By this I simply mean:

"If I went to THAT country and took some money to another country would their money be more, or would my money be more".

Simple as that.

  1. How can I remove the brain tumor from my friend's head?  I don't want any fancy schmancy answers, just a line or two.  I don't actually want to have to learn anything about brain surgery (read "economics"), I just wanna get rich quick.

Currency comes from the word "current", which refers to the process of energy traveling through a medium.  When you work, there is a natural market value for your energy.  A currency must reflect that value, so the value of your work energy can flow through the economy.  A currency with a money supply that changes, without the equivalent work reflecting that change in value, is an unstable currency.

Thus, the currency whose "supply to effort ratio" remains closest to 1 is the most stable currency.  Right now, that would be gold, and more so silver, because silver is undervalued in terms of paper currencies.

Without the fancy schmancy explanation: printing paper raises the price of precious metals.
