  1. When my child was born, someone gave us a subscription to Parenting magazine and they were realy heavy into not vaccinating children. That is nuts.

There was an article by someone who refused to vaccinate and her kid got whooping cough. She described sitting up wiht the child for several nights as she suffered to try to breath and nearly died. In the end the mother said she had the satisfaction of knowing that her child now had "natural immunity".

    Flippin lunatic.

  2. The worst advice in a magazine,

was purchasing of an Engine Oil Pump Primer for a SBC-BBC.

The theory is to pump oil through the engine before the initial start up on a newly rebuilt engine.

This accomplished by using this priming tool in place of the distributer and using a 1/2" drill motor to turn this oil pump primer to pump the oil.

Now as soon as the tool is removed to put the distributer in, all the oil has drained back to the pan.

The PROPER WAY, is to assemble the engine using an assembly lube on all the moving parts, bearings gears etc.

Assemble the engine totally. Without powering up the ignition (pull coil wire) crank the engine over with the starter until some oil pressure shows on the gauge.

add the coil wire and fire it up.

  3. Become a Jehovah's Witness.

  4. In a list of allegedly s**y things to say to your husband or boyfriend, in Cosmopolitan:  "My bikini waxer went a little too far today!"  My boyfriend at the time winced when he saw this article.  (I wasn't dumb enough to actually use the line, TTG.)  Without exception, the straight and bi men I asked about this immediately thought this would mean they'd have to take their girlfriend/wife to the emergency room and expect her to be out of commission for a few weeks!

Actually, you should pretty much disregard all the advice in Cosmopolitan.

  5. vote for bush in 2000

  6. Any of the "women's" magazines that train women to fix their exterior to match ludicrous media ideals in order to attract men.

  7. "Invest in Enron stock"
