London, Kilburn,  1979-1981,  Burgled twice in three years.

Bed-sit living trying to save for a deposit on a house...

Dingy, dirty, rowdy.

An Irish area while there was a strong suspicion of the IRA, who were active then.  Non-Irish distrusted the Irish, The Irish disliked being looked down on...  .

Dundee.

It's a sh*t hole, if ever there were a sh*t hole.

It's like a small town- you can see and do everything in one day, and it's fricking freezing.

On the plus side, it is nice to see the river
