Mine would have to be Richmonds Nathan Brown's broken leg in 2005.

  1. oh that or micheal voss and his broken leg....

he lept for the ball and connected with and opposition player and you could see it break and bend around the other player that was just wrong...

oh how about dustin fletchers teeth being knocked out in a game against brisbane that was pretty horrible especially when you saw his teeth on film...

  2. Yeah im with you for sure, Nathan Browns was really bad

  3. These all would get a mention from me, but I remember when Tony Lockett (played for St Kilda) racing up the ground from Full Forward on a lead and crashed through a  player,I think it was Carter(from the Swans). Smashed his face with his elbow, re arranges his nose, god it looked bad.

Lover from Ozzz.... that was Mark Mcveigh that kneed James Hird in the face, at subiaco oval against the dockers, not Crosswell.I was at the game.

  4. ewwwwww, dont remind me LOL

THAT has got to be the worst injury every shown on TV - I ran away from the TV and almost threw up my dinner.

AND they kept replaying it over and over for a week!

  5. i seen a guy at local footy snap his leg into a right angle on a fence post surrounding the ground, the sight followed by the all mighty scream sent a shiver threw my spine-plus the poor bugger waited a good 10 minutes for the ambulance

p.s i know its not AFL level but i was 4 feet away and its my no.1 no doubt

  6. steven king kicking white in the face

  7. Hentchel's knee injury from 06' when he was tackled by a Port player as he was snapping for goal, I've never seen a knee contort in that direction before, the surgeon who did the surgery said it was like from a car accident (pedestrian being hit by a car), and Nathan Browns leg v the Dee's was also shocking.

  8. lover from ozz that was daryn cresswell from the swans - he kept playing after he went off for a breather.

EDIT: There was another swans player nicknamed SORE (son of rocket eade) I think his name was Filandia. Anyway several years after he was delisted they showed him in a lower grade game biting the testicles of another player. I couldn't believe it, brings another meaning to the name SORE.  Ouch!

  9. That Swans player that Tony Lockett decked about ten years back was ugly.  The irony was, they became team mates next season when Plugger moved to the Swans.

  10. Yeah I agree with you. That was the worst. It looked cool...but it wouldve hurt like c**p

  11. THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS SHOCKING INJURIES, BROWNS IS RIGHT UP THERE.  to blackgig, yes that plugger one was scary, it wasnt rod carter though, it was a bloke who's name escapes me, peter.cavern, and i heard plugger tell this story, when he went to sydney to play that same bloke was the bloke who had to pick him up at the airport, good trip home hey, he later went on to play for adelaide, but yer his face was smashed hey.

  12. Oh ... yeah ... ouch ... now was it Brenton Sanderson or Ken Hinckley from Geelong who suffered a compound broken ankle on the field going for a mark backing back if I remember rightly.  That woz serious "oooooh ouch" material.  Career ending but I'm struggling to remember who's career.  Similar I think to the Brown one.

OH YEAH: Thanks Lover ... it was Snell.  Pity, good player who probably would have played in the GF this year.  Passionate player with guts.

Worst I ever saw though was a wet day at Erskineville Oval, Sydney, where a Newtown player slid into a concrete drain between the concrete and a picket fence.  He was out cold, blood everywhere and they took him AND the two offending pickets off in the ambulance.  He lived but had something like 70 stitches in his head.

We bought him a beer each when he returned.  He lived but felt like he had seventy stitches :-)

  13. Yep, as far as I can remember, Nathan Brown's would have to be the worse.

But Gary Lyon's injury would come in close to be the worse with so much attention paid to it on the Footy Show.

  14. Same As Your's

  15. oh my god, like one day i was watching footy and a guy got kicked in the testicles,,, omg, like, how painful

  16. Yeah that was bad,... then i remember the Footscray player Sasche, who was crippled ...and Carracella who could easily have been .

  17. Yeah that was pretty bad.

What about James Hirds face after he collided with the knee of his team mate?

Also, we all remember that classic footage of the player punching his knee cap back in! Can't remember who that was but it makes me cringe when I see it!

And they say aussie rules players aren't tough??

check this site out guys, remember these??

  18. Luke Darcy from The Doggies a couple of years. He couldn't play for a whole year i think.

  19. has to be Nathan Browns leg breaking last week i was at the telstra dome for a function they have pictures all over there walls of past and present players I couldnt beleive they had a picture of Natan Browns bone hanging out of his leg it made me sick.

  20. The punctured lung that dipper suffered in the 89 GF

Montgomery had to stop playing due to a neck injury.

and I'm not sure what the actual injury was, but ............ I can remember Stevie Wright (swans) shirt fronting Richard Osborne at the SCG and the ambulance had to come on to the ground as Osborne was convulsing on the ground.

  21. Yeah, Nathan Browns leg was a pearler.

Richard Osbourne, Footscray v Sydney  @ SCG 1993(i think), with the big full front on face smash,a la Hird, on the centre half forward line.

Matt, Osbourne copped a fractured skull & cheekbone, from memory.......but sometimes even i doubt that the memory is in full working order...LOL

  22. Neil Sachse becoming a quadriplegic is the worst I ever saw, only on tape. Two games after coming from SA.

Next was Michael Voss' leg broken vs. Freo. Same thing happened to me, but mine happened with a car hitting me.

Don't think the video shows how it happened, but Francis Bourke's face bleeding like a faucet (tap).

From below, I forgot the look on Richard Osborne's face when he ripped his knee. He got that knee bent to where it wasn't supposed to go. Same thing happened when Justin Murphy ripped his knee or ankle, when you saw it, you knew it was stuffed.

  23. Yep, I'll agree with that one, still makes me shudder....and we had to watch it over and over on agonising replay for the next week....owwwwww

  24. An incident that I witnessed some years back, was a spectator turning on another supporter and splitting his head open, resulting in hospitalisation. This was the grog.

  25. Matthew Lloyd from the Bombers. I can't believe he had to have surgery and everything to his torn hamstring.

  26. That would have to rate highly. When you see the bone nearly piercing the skin. Three others from Tigerland were Thursfield's and Newman's legs and Francis Bourke's bloodied face.
