What is the worst mistake you have made in your work or work experience?

what happened? how could you have avoided it?

I went to the christmas party, didn't drink, but I didn't go to work the next day. I could have avoided it but not going to the stupid party and just caught up on my sleep, but my boss didn't care about that.

I took my manger's advice about challenging some higher management guy and not backing down when he was criticizing my project. That he respected people who stood up for themselves. Turned out the guy really wanted people to cower and do what he said. He had a vendetta for me after that. All the people in management who said they'd stick up for me backed away and hung me out to dry. So I left for another company.

I don't know how I could have avoided it without totally losing my dignity and self-respect. As it is, that whole segment of that company was eliminated so if I had stayed I'd be out of a job now.

I actually stayed at my last job way longer than I should have.  I really wasn't finding the work satisfying and couldn't wait til we could clock out.  I wish that I had left after about a year.

Not accepting a job promotion in another state.  But really it wasn't a mistake, just an opportunity to learn.

i complaint about this girl that i really got pissed of with.. seemed like one of the people i told about it was her friend.. not only did that girl got mad at me.. i even looked bad for other people..

i should've shut my mouth and talked to that girl directly instead..

Told my supervisor I had a Doctor appointment and went for a job interview at another place of employment and eventually accepted that job.  Felt bad that I had to lie to get time off for that.
