  1. Rodents such as hamsters, gerbils, rats, guinea pigs, etc... can either be really good pets or awful pets.  Somtimes you'll get one that is friendly and calm.  If your unlucky, you'll get one that bites and is impossible to handle.  To prevent this you can play around with a couple at wherever your getting them and pick out the nicest one.  I would say that nasty rodents, birds, and fish are the worst pets.  Birds and fish are just plain boring and you can't do anything with them but look at them.  Birds can be pretty creepy too.  I've never actually had a pet that I didn't like - which includes a dog, 2 guinea pigs, 3 rabbits, fish, turtles, hamster.  Out of all them my turtles are pretty boring so I'd have to say them.

  2. A chihuahua, [8 months ago..] it bit my little sister, and she had to get stitches on her hand, it was horrible.

it just walked up to her, and attacked.

We had to give him away.

    that little devil..

Now we have a cocker spaniel, who is my best buddy!

  3. Absolutely none!

I did have one cat who used to get hit for peeing in the house, and developed a habit of doing just that from the trauma. And I'm talking every single day -.-

I have also had two dogs at separate times which lived outdoors only before I got them, and both knew not even to sit or come! One, the german shepherd, was even human-aggressive and needed a heck lot of correction training. Both of them would do everyhting they would do outdoors inside, so that was awful The other do was a beagle.

And I have had a number of rodents and birds who's previous owners never bothered to properly handle, so the poor things were terrified of human contact and would be very vicious. Those were a couple of rats, a chinchilla, a hedgehog, several hamsters, gerbils and budgies.

But it was not any of their fault. A pet is like a baby. You can't blame your kid for growing up terrible! It is your own fault for not doing anything about it. In all of these cases, I got them from other people that allowed them to get so bad, but I stuck by my agreement of caring for them, and the dogs eventually learned to behave, and rodents and birds learned to be handled. I found permanent homes for most, but that kitty never got better and we just ended up keeping her even though she always did pee everywhere. Now that's commitment! lol :P

And too bad you had bad experience with kitties. They are my personal favourite pet. All of my four current cats are sweet as sugar, and two are friendly even with strangers. The other two just hide. You just need to teach them how to behave, they don't know they are doing something wrong :P

  4. The worst?

Personally, I think tortoises/turtles were ''the worst'' just because the lack of interaction you really get with them.

Mice are 2nd worst, because they prefer to be a look-don't-touch pet, and the level of fun from that is significantly decreased.

  5. I have loved all my pets. I currently have three dogs, two cats, one parrot, one tree frog, three bettas, and roughly 70 koi and goldfish in the pond. But in the past I have also had rabbits. None of them are/were vicious.

  6. I had a vicious hamster.  It was dead-set on taking off my finger.  We made it a great little house, all the hay and alfalfa he could ever want!  Chewies, fruit, veggies.  He loved it so much, when we'd go to clean it, put more food/water in, etc.  He'd attack!

  7. I've had individual animals that I've disliked. I had a cat once that I adopted when she was an adult- she wasn't very well socialized, so she can't really be to blame, but despite every attempt I made to coax her out of her shell she was always terribly grumpy. I was a kid, though, and my mom opted to return her to the aspca once she got angry and slit open my ear.

It didn't turn me off cats though. I've a cat now who is the most brilliant little thing I've ever met. haha.

Oh, you know, I can't say I much care for fish. Salt water tanks are very pretty, but I've never been able to convince myself they're worth the upkeep. ):

  8. Marshmallow "The Devil Hamster". He was tan with dark red eyes. He ALWAYS bit me. Once he held on and I didn't know it. As I jerked my hand away, he flew behind his cage. Luckily he was alright.

He was so mean I returned him to where I got him so they could find a new owner for him. I was only 10 and I was stupid. If I could go back in time, I would've tried to tame him with treats.

I did get a nicer hamster though. We made SURE it was friendly before we got it. He's died of old age a few years ago.

  9. Mice. I had three and they were okay pets but were scared to death of people. Unlike all the other pets I've had, they would actually run away from me. It was even worse when one of them got out of the cage! The speedy little monster took two weeks to catch! They didn't live very long either. One got stuck on something and I couldn't get her out, the other one died of cancer and the last one (the same one that got out of the cage) died of suddenly being alone from the other two dying.

  10. hamsters make horrible pets. the worst i've personally owned tho was a full grown antisocial bunny i adopted. he hated being held, but he loved pissing on my bed and biting my toes. man i hated him.

  11. Bar none, our Cocker Spaniel, Dolly. This dog has got to be the stupidest dog on the planet! All she is geared toward is eating & crapping in the house. She has no appreciable personality whatsoever. She is deaf & blind and my mother refuses to see the logic or kindness in putting her down. I love all animals (truly!), but I despise this dog!
