  1. The worst side of a hurricane is east of the eye wall where the winds are typically stronger than the winds west of the eye wall.  In the northern hemisphere the circulation is counterclockwise.  When hurricanes make landfall the winds coming off the ocean will be on the east side.  This is also the side from where the storm surges originates.

  2. The strongest part of a hurricane is the eye wall. If you don't want to see the hurricane, avoid the eye wall because that's where most the power is. I'm a storm chaser so I'll be going to the eye wall and hopefully be able to get good footage with the hurricane and possible tornadoes. You can't say what's worst and best when it comes to meteorology because that would mean different things to different people.

  3. Usually the right side semi-circle  of the storm will have very strong winds  and the dangerous one.
