What is the worst thing that could happen if you left your stove on for an extended amount of time?

And if you did the same, but also with a pot that started out with water in it? Also, how would you go near it to turn it off if it got so hot?

Let's say there is nothing flammable near the stove (typical kitchen except empty).

  1. Metal can only stand so many degree. After a while the water will be empty than it will turn red. Then it will turn red, It will take so many kilo Joule to eventually burn all the plastic k**b. After that It will smoke. With some chemical reaction it will start fire go to the exhaust. The Exhaust is fire hazard when it got too hot since it got a lot of oil residue on it. That why the home inspector what you to clean you exhaust when it got too dirty. Eventually it will start fire. Then your alarm will sound, if you have one. By the time the fireman come maybe your house already in flame. I don't know how long exactly it will start the fire, I think you can do chemistry research but don't try it at home. It will cause you a lot of trouble. I hope it explain.


  2. If there is nothing flammable around, then your just going to waste a lot of money on energy.  If it's on high, you could burn out the burner, cause a spark when it blows, and start a fire.
