  1. When I was 8 years old we went to London and that was about 10 years after WW2 and there were many war vets with terrible injuries out of work and trying to get by and one of them played the violin and had some of his face gone and I always used to burst into tears when i saw him and beg my father to give him money; finally my father got so fed up he stopped taking me out for walks altogether. There was another man selling newspapers and his nose was gone.

In more recent times, I found a man sitting outside my supermarket with only one arm and he had a cup of pencils; I went there regularly to give him money and he always gave me a beautiful pencil in return with scripture on it. I don't go to that supermarket any more but I think of him from time to time.

  2. Two times:

    1.  After 9/11, while driving home from work around 7PM.  Everyone in the neighborhoods would gather at the curb of the home.  There they would hold a candle and an American Flag.  I would cry all the way home.  In fact, just writing this has made me start crying all over again.

    2.  I went to visit the Holocaust Museum.  As I walked along, an strong, pungent odor was coming from in front of us.  Entering the room, we discovered it were shoes taken from the feet of the jews as they walked into the gas chambers.  The pungent smell was because of the age of the shoes.  But, what struck so emotionally was looking at all the different kinds of shoes:  sandals, baby shoes, kids shoes, etc.  Then, up ahead of me were three old people crying in a huddle.  I noticed that the old man had a number tatooted on his arm.  It was so sad.

  3. a guy was speeding on his motorbike and he fell and did a somersault over the bike. one of the most horrible things i have ever seen

  4. i dont cry, but it makes me sad seeing homeless people, especially people with children, and especially in the winter. they have nowhere to go. i saw a lady and her little children sitting outside in the winter, and i gave her my jacket.

  5. Coming home one day to my first apartment, I went by an accident: this poor dog had apparently been hit badly by a car or truck, he was a big dog but was sitting/half lying in the middle of the road panting, with this stunned look. There was a pool of blood under him. I would have stopped but there were already people there trying to help. I got home, went inside and cried. I don't think he survived.

  6. one time i saw this homeless guy wearing a trash bag! it made me so sad. but i couldn't help because i was like three lanes away from him. that's probably not the saddest thing but i can't think of anything else.

  7. Well one night I went to bayside in downtown, but it was packed because there was a convention. So we left, but the streets were dark and empty and we stopped at a red light, and when i look to my right, on the sidewalk there was a homeless and we was sniffing old eaten food from the garbage, and we was smelling used chicken bones...its a little gross but it broke my heart because he had nothing to eat, and hunger lead him to the garbage can.

  8. I once saw a body after a guy had jumped from a balcony, 7 stories up.

  9. I was on my way to my Aunts house and on the side of the road... there was a van... and it the van was  a woman who looked like she pulled over to beat the c**p out of her kid...

all I saw was the woman outside of the van while the kid was in the van... hitting the kid with her belt over and over and over again. I saw a few fists.

I felt helpless... but there was already a man who noticed what was happening and pulled over and called the cops.

  10. a lady was shopping at a yard sale and my neighbor was in on it too!

she was next door so the lady grabbed a baby blanet and asked how much it was!

so i said it wasn't mine let me ask!  I yelled out to my neighbor and she comes out and says 50 cents  (they were brand new)

the old hag seen that my neighber was African American and ran to her car said i got to get my money a FLEW away from us as fast as she could!

    that hurt!

  11. A kid being beaten up by a group of boys in a busy shopping district, and people going past muttering that it was the boys fault. His nose was bleeding and he was in distress, however no one did absolutely anything. The police were across the road but were not aware of the scene so I went to them and told them what was happening but the boy disappeared by the time I told them. I was so unaware about how thoughtless and horrible people could be before that and not have a care in the world for other people apart from themselves.
