For me it was probably (other than a straight up stiff) $1 on a $105 check, it was 7 people so I couldn't do an auto gratuity (our restaurant does 15% on a party of 8 or more). They were Middle Eastern and the guy who paid was a stuck up douche. Yeah, being a server has its suck times.

  1. The worst that I have ever gotten was during the winter...

The bill was over fifty dollars, they were a buch of punk-@$$ teens. They paid with a credit card and on the 'tip' line they wrote "Don't eat yellow snow." That's all they left me!!!!

  2. I'm Australian, and here, tipping isn't considered compulsory - not even for the bills that are in the hundreds. About 80% of people don't tip.

BUT the worst tip I ever got was..

A used napkin on which a customer had written his name and phone number. He had to be discrete because he was on a date with his girlfriend =/

  3. A fake $50 dollar bill that was an invitation to some church event.

I have also received a previously scratched off lottery ticket(wasn't a winner)

  4. I know a one-time waitress that received a .0001 cent tip on a credit card receipt.  In my mind, that's FAR worse than anything, even nothing!
