  1. y=0 =>

    x=0, 4

    /*************/

    y= -x^2 +4x

    0 = -x^2 +4x

    x^2 = 4x

    true when x = 0 or x = 4

  2. there are two:

    x-intercepts are where y = 0

    0 = -x^2 + 4x

    0 = x(-x + 4)

    so x = 0 or (-x + 4) = 0 ==> x = 4

    x intercepts: (0,0) and (4,0)

  3. The x-intercept has to be zero; there is no constant to shift the parabola up or down from the origin.

  4. The parabola has two x-intercepts.

    Let y = 0, then solve for x.

    0 = - x ^ 2 + 4x

    0 =  - x ( x - 4 )

    By the zero product property :

    - x = 0  OR  x - 4 = 0

    so x = 0  OR x = 4 <=== both are solutions

    Good luck to you !
