  1. That depends how many lights are on.  The infamous RRoD is actually only three lights lit red, and occurs when your system overheats to the point the chip is no longer being cooled properly.

Some people have had temporary success forcing the XBOX 360 to reset by forcibly overheating it by wrapping it in 3-4 thick towels and running it for 20 minutes.

Let it cool completely, then start it up again.  Should work, even for a day or two.  But like I said, temporary.

The heatsink needs to be re installed properly to bring lasting results.  If you arent familliar with how to do this, you should contact Microsoft XBOX support.  This issue is still covered under warranty.

  2. Hi,

It happpens because of overheating and to fix it you need to know how to stop the build up of heat from the GPU and the CPU and you will be back to your games in no time.

    Hope this helps!

  3. ah the dreaded red ring. it is caused by a faulty thing that Microsoft did and it cannot be stopped. If it happens you just simply go to xbox.com and find support. Submit a repair request for the three red rings and they will send you a box with instructions and they will repair it for free.

  4. Here is a tutorial on how to fix it.

  5. it means a serious hardware error has happend

    usually  the  xbox  overheats

you cant fix it your sel funless  you  have intimate knowledge of the inner working of the xbox  to have it repaired it must be send to microsoft  where they will check it  revise it and send it  back to you or  return you a revised  model  of the same series

  6. The red ring is when the lights around the power button all turn red, it happens because the xbox 360 is a poorly designed system. and its often caused by the system overheating (a problem less common in newer models). some people temporarily fix it by wrapping the xbox in a towel while its on and letting it run for half an hour, it gets extremely hot, supposedly it melts the solder giving the wires/circuits a better connection. this is only a temporary fix and does'nt always work. the only way to fix it is to send it back to Microsoft and have them fix it, or go buy a new one.
