  1. like 6

  2. I think its under 10's, they don't start them young in union due to the complexity of the game

  3. 5, as soon as he's in school & Rugby season starts he can play. It's real cute watching the young ones, running with no shoes & in the rain...they just love it!!.

  4. what country? I started at 4 but that was in new zealand...

canada has a program now with non-contact rugby starting at 6

  5. i started at 10. i think earlier than that is really risky.

  6. In Australia they have Walla Rugby for 7-8 year olds. Its more to get them on the field. They play on a smaller field and are taught the rudiments of the game.

If you are from Oz, have a look at this web site. http://www.rugby.com.au/community_rugby/...

If not in Oz, follow up with your local rugby organisation to see what they offer.

  7. In New Zealand boys and girls are supposed to start by 5 years old at the youngest.  However I've seen the odd 4 year old running around out there.

  8. 9 i think, my cousins 11 now, and hes moving away from tag rugby

he;s very good and quick so the bumoed him up a year, but they dont think hes ready for full contact.

  9. I think it depends where you are located . Here in Scotland we have Microbes from age 4 ( both sexes ) who play a very gentle non contact version . It gerts more aggresive as you get older !

  10. in England, i started at age 7, with Mini and Midi Rugby, where it's a tag format, but you start to learn the rules of Rugby, then by the age of 11, they start to bring in contact into the game.

  11. As soon as he can run (the sooner the better).

For small kids rugby is played with different rules and they gradually get introduced to the full 15-a-side game
