Some of the Major things to see/do in Salzburg is Skiing browse the Baroque style architecture, see the birth place of motzart, hike up  Untersberg mountain to see the alps and the city in a pararmaic style view, and go see Hilters Retreat at Eagle's Nest. Also if you go durring July and Aug you can go to the Salzburg Festival of Music.  And you can also take a Tour of where the sound of music was filmed. ^_^

  4. There are many different things to do/visit:

True, many of these places were used in the filming of "The sound of Music".  If you go, travel to the Wolfgangsee, Mondsee and Fuschlsee.  Also visit St. Gilgen and other small towns.

Everything there is just breathtakingly beautiful.

  5. Okay, so even though I have never been there, I know that Mozart was born in Salzburg. From the photos it's beautiful, you can visit the Alps, ski and snowboard. Other famous people born and raised in Salzburg, are Christian Doppler, the expert on acoustic theory who discovered the Doppler effect was born there; Joseph Mohr, one of the composers and writers of "Silent NIght".

Also, some of the events are: the Salzburg Festival is a festival that happens in July and August and is a world-famous music festival.

  6. You must see Mozart's house, the house where he was born and raised.  Another must-see is that huge castle on top of the hill.  I forgot the name but the castle used to belong to an archbishop.  The guide would show you the secret entry, or tunnel, the archbishop used to sneak women in to spend the nights with him.
