  1. I live close to ABQ and here is my suggestions for you.

Visit the native american museums here,  check out the Jemez reservation area, it has huge beautiful redwoods trees, streams and lakes and a view of the high desert bar none. You will be suroounded by multi colored stone formations, and mesas that are boundless with nature and beauty.

Check out a few of the native american casinos, and trading posts,

Take the tram to the top of the sandia mountains,

Visit the old town areas that still have the look and feel of authentic Mexican folks and culture.

When in season we have the largest balonn festival in the world I believe but that is in early spring.

Go hiking in one of the numerous trails and moutainess settings.

Have fun, I know I am here

  2. I agree that the tramway up Sandia Peak is essential to the Albuquerque trip! Also, the Frontier restaurant is the place to go for greasy New Mexican smothered burritos, and it's right across from the University of New Mexico. Nearby there is a cool museum of natural history, I believe, and Old Town isn't too far either. That's a great place to pick up some fun souvenirs. There's an amusement park, Cliff's, and a water park as well. If you're old enough, there are casinos technically on the reservation but just barely outside of ABQ. There's no drinking allowed in them, but they can still be fun.

    Enjoy "The Land of Enchantment!"

  3. Go out a little north of the city and ride the tram to the top of Sandia peak.  Enjoy the view and have dinner at the restaurant there, the food is excellent!  Take a coat, it's cold up there.

  4. A great place to eat is Frontier, down by the University on Central.  It is a iconic college greasy spoon where you can see just about every kind of person you can imagine.  Central is pretty interesting too, from Nob Hill up on Carlisle down to downtown.  Nob Hill has good shopping.  There's also great hiking up in the foothills.
