What is there to do in DUNSTER apart from the castle???

thinking of going down to dunster by steam train with kids!!=))

  1. There's not a lot in Dunster, apart from the castle, and the doll museum, but it's a pretty little village. There's plenty to do in Minehead, just down the road,(if you like that sort of thing) It's not the nicest of resorts, but it's lively, and fun for the kids at Butlins. We have just come back from around that area, and I hated Minehead, but enjoyed the gorgeous scenery and places of interest around. We visited Cleeve Abbey, a 12th century monastery, and found it really interesting.

    Also Lynmouth and Lynton is not far away, and worth a visit.


  2. Go into Minehead to visit the town, take the steam railway all along the route, go visit the market in the next town (unsure of the name its a long time since ive been there) Take a trip up the large hill in Minehead, visit Porlock Wier.......go  visit the national park.....

    rock on ireland!

    or enjoy some thrash from diesel hydraulics on the west somerset railway!
