What is there to do in Ixtapa, Mexico besides the beach?

I'm going to Ixtapa, Mexico this summer and my mom and I are wondering what we can do there that isn't terribly expensive.

The nightlife is good, there is golf, deep sea fishing, hiking & biking, small villages to explore.  Zihuantanejo is an interesting fishing village you fly into when you go there.  It's noted as a '2 for 1' as it and Ixtapa is only 10 miles apart..  They have great seafood restaurants, quiet & quaint village with lots of small boutique hotels and bed and breakfast places.

Don't expect to find 5 star hotels there.  Half of them are all inclusive.  Eating out and drinking is not as expensive as Cancun and most other Mexican beach areas.
