I'm going to NYC with three other friends. We'll be there Sept. 5-7 and besides going to Central Park, what other things could we do, preferably at very low cost. We're all over 24 and have been doing some traveling this summer, with a goal of spending "wisely". Any advice? Thanks!

  1. Go see our pride and joy, the 26 time World Champion New York Yankees.

  2. definitely visit times square, take pictures, visit toys r us, m&ms world. ride the staten island ferry from battery park (its free and it got amazing view) go to the disney store and rockeffeller center, enjoy the view of brooklyn bridge from south street seaport mall's foodcourt, and one more thing : I'd highly recommend renting a bike and go around central park with bike. It'll definitely be your best trip to NYC !

  3. Is it your first time visiting NYC? If so, I'd advise doing all of the touristic stuff, but I can't say that those activities are inexpensive. As a native, I know most tourists like going to Manhattan, so there won't be anything cheap there. The only place I know in Manhattan that they sell some cool cheap souvenirs is in downtown Manhattan in Chinatown. Take a subway ride to Canal Street (4, 5,6,J,M,Z, N, Q, R,W) and just explore the area. There are a lot of knock-offs and imitations, so I guess you are spending wisely if you get a Gucci bag for ten bucks. If you want to keep exploring, Little Italy, the World Trade Center, and the South Street Seaport (especially at night for the view) are not so far off if you like to walk. :]
