  1. Some other interesting things to see that are a bit unusual are:

    1) the catacombs, the ancient underground burial sites for Christians. They're on the outskirts of the city and you should be able to find a bus to get there.

    2) the Capuchin Crypt beneath the Capuchin Church of the Immaculate Conception (1645), located on Via Veneto, near Barbarini Square. It is the final resting place for over 4,000 Capuchin monks, who died between 1528 and 1870, as well as several poor Romans. The soil in the crypt was brought from Jerusalem. Large numbers of the bones are nailed to the walls in intricate patterns, many are piled high among countless others, some hang from the ceiling as working light fixtures. There are six total rooms in the crypt, all but one featuring a unique display of human bones.

    3) The Scala Santa or Holy Stairs, twenty-eight steps in the Lateran Palace, located opposite San Giovanni Laterano. According to tradition, the staircases were part of the praetorium of Pilate in Jerusalem, hence were sanctified by the footsteps of Jesus Christ during his Passion. You may only walk up these stairs on your knees.

  2. I would say the Scala Santa or Holy Stairs but someone already did but I would add these couple of things too:

    1) "Villa Torlonia" -awesome villa belonging to the Torlonia family. It is entered from via Nomentana.Mussolini rented it from the Torlonia as his state residence from the 1920s on.The villa is now a public park with gardens, museums, resturants.

    2) "Lo Zodiaco" it is a beautiful place/bar/restaurant set on Monte Mario the highest spot of rome where you can hang out on the terrace and view the beautiful panorama.

  3. I advise you to go to TRASTEVERE and GIANICOLO... these are the most romantic places in Rome... specially at night! than, from 8 p.m you can take a very little bus "116 T" that doesn't stop everywhere, i don't remember, you should ask there and only sit near a window... if you love our famous ice cream you must go to "GIOLITTI" but now I don't remember the address... sorry for my english... ciao ciao!!!

  4. The #1 Roman favorite that almost all tourists don't do is go to a soccer (football) game.
