Hey! My boyfriend and I are going to York tomorrow for our anniversary and will be staying there until Wednesday. Our anniversary isn't until Monday. So could you recommend anywhere nice to go for a meal please? Also what sort of things could we do when we are in York. We are a young couple. I'm 19 and he is 24. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

  1. You could go shopping, or go to the races if there's any on?

  2. http://www.visityork.org/

York Minster, JORVIK, the National Railway Museum and York Castle Museum are just a few of York’s world famous attractions. Boat trips on the River Ouse, entertaining guided walks and open-top bus tours take in the city’s historic architecture and introduce York’s Roman, Viking, Medieval and royal heritage.

  3. Theres lots of things to do in York. Theres...........No they closed that down, wait a minute theres always..........No they closed that as well. What about the? I forgot That's under repair. Well at least it's a good place for an early night and a shag.

  4. York is a great place to visit and an even better place to live!! Loads to see and do. Hopefully the weather is nice- you can take a walk along the river, go on a boat trip or hire your own boat or go to one of the many museums. walking along the walls is nice also.

theres loads of good restaurants- try The Lime House or Cafe No. 8. If you like thai food The Old Siam is lovely too or Del Rio's for Italian.

THere's also plenty of bars- try the ones by the river p&p, vodka rev, orgasmic etc or the ones in the quarter vudu, biltmore etc. Also the biltmore is really good for food and i think would really suit you if its a special occassion

  5. Go on the ghost walk - its great

  6. ASK is a beautifull restaurant in York. Theres loads of museums and walks round the city. Go see the city walls and visit the cathedral. Try the viking museum and the ghost tours are good. The nightlifes not bad either.

  7. There is a place called L'ocanda L'antica on The Shambles (which is the name of a street which in itself is a tourist attraction) Anyhow, its an italian restaurant, very very nice, very small and very quaint (Tel: 01904 670247)

I used to live in York and always went to L'ocanda L'antica for special occasions, the food is divine, staff very attentive and its romantic and candleit at night. Anyone I ever recommended this place to was never disappointed.

There is another italian La Vecchia Scuola overlooking the minster (if you get a good seat)

Both are always busy and require booking

York itself is beautiful and I am sure you will have an amazing wk end
