What is there to do in amsterdam?

Hi, going on a eurotrip in july, me and 7 mates will be in Amsterdam for 4 nights ...... whats there to do during the day/night....any good clubs you would recommend? Obviously we'll be visiting the infamous cafes all day, speaking of which, have any of their laws actually changed or is that merely vicous rumour mill mumbo jumbo?

If you're young and handsome, why pay for a hooker?  Don't go to AMS just for prostitution.  It's a totally beautiful place with lots of young people and so many things to do you really need to read the chapter on AMS in a good guide book like Lonely Planet or Let's Go.  There are some offbeat museums to visit, like the museum of torture, the cannabis museum, and a s*x museum.  It's fun to rent a bike, but it's small enough to just wander around and get lost.  Definitely go to vondelpark and spend some time there.  There's usually some music or show, sunbathers not getting a tan-line, and lots of people.  As for clubs, the Lonely Planet and Let's Go guides are written by and for hip young people so see what they say.  And once you find one coffeshop or club you like, chat up some locals and ask them.

Don't worry about the laws cramping your style too much. The worst that might happen is they don't have a smoking section, so you have to take it with you.
