  5. There is so much to do in Melbourne - you'll have a great time.

    Firstly, you can get around Melbourne so easily due to the free city circle tram that runs loops around the city several times an hour.  Sometimes it has a taped commentary playing that points out places of interest along the way.

    The place I would suggest you go is Federation Square.  It is a tourist mecca with oodles of information aimed at educating visitors to what this fab. city has to offer.

    I guess it depends on what you're interested in.  Melbourne is of course reknown for its shopping but if you're not into that there is the old jail, the museum, the aquarium, Melbourne Zoo and a multitude of gorgeous little lanes to explore.

    You can also catch other trams out of the city and head to say St Kilda to take a look at this world famous place.

    Out of Melbourne you have:-

    * Port Phillip Bay (penguins and lots of marine birds);

    * Port Nepean National Park (newly opened with a military history);

    * Dandenong Ranges (Puffing Billy Steam Train and gorgeous place apparently);

    * Yarra Valley & Mt Macedon wineries & cheese factories;

    * Wilsons Prom (beautiful national park and bushwalking trails, great views);

    * The Grampians National Park (more bushwalking).

    With these suggestions you'll have to join a small (or large if you're into that) tour or hire a car.

    You're so going to love Melbourne.

  6. There's a great 4wd drive tour out of melbourne that goes to the nearby Yarra Valley, Not only do they do 4wding but wine tasting and they find heaps of native wildlife to look at, waterfalls and rainforests, go to www.vic4wdadventures.com.au theres also a penguin cruise that goes to penguin colonies around St Kilda in port phillip Bay and that saves a 2 hour drive to phillip island.

  7. Theres plenty to do, look at the site thatsmelbourne.com.au

    they have everything you need there :)
