  1. in milan there isn't so much to see but a lot to do!in milan and near milan there is all that you need and want.milan is full of locals and disco for example.

    i live in milan

  2. Lot to do in Milan!! It's a big city and you can go out at night to discos and clubs, there are lots of concerts almost everyday (classical, jazz and rock), you can go shopping to the fashion square....it's quite fun for young people! Then, you can reach by train the principal cities in Italy, so on weekends you can go to other cities like Verona, Mantova, Bergamo, Venice, Turin...that are really beautiful, or you can go to the Alps or to Como lake and Garda lake....

    You won't get bored!!

  3. My number 1 would be to see for myself - Leonardo da Vinci's famous "Last Supper".

Take the weekend trips other the other respondents have suggested.

Most the most of being so close to everything...in Australia we are a long way from everything.

I am be so envious of being able to "pop" over to Venice; Verona, Genoa; the Italian Riviera; Nice; Florence; Cinqueterra; the Amalfi coast.

Have a fantastic 5 years - learn the language(if you don't already know it); immerse yourself in one of the worlds oldest cultures.

  4. don't miss INTERMILAN soccer games. I would kill for one of those.

  5. Aloha from Down Unda!

If Milano, Italy is the location for 5 years, it might be a good idea to make travel reservations for the 1st vacation real soon to Nice or Paris.  Those mountains seem to induce claustrophobia...

    Best wishes~

  6. If you get homesick ... drop by at a pub called 'Pogue Mahones' in Porta Romana ... a lot of Aussies and Kiwis there and italians of course

  7. I guess you'll see whats up when you get here!!!
