I'm going on a vacation to Cancun pretty soon, and I was wondering what all I could do there? I'm not really a fan of snorkling or scuba diving, and the only thing I'm really looking forward to is getting a good tan. ;)

  1. What's there NOT to do is the question?  There are a wide variety of things to do. Yes, there is nothing better than relaxing either by the pool or on the beach and having a drink and getting tan. There is more to it though. During the day you can just go out to all the shops and malls and also water activities. I recommend you going to Playa Cabana since you like to lay out and tan. This place is awesome and they treat you like a god.  It's a very lush, classy beach club. They have pools, cabanas, a beach. You can just lay there and have people wait on you hand and foot. Very, Very nice.  Riding Sea-doos are fun.  I recommend Ocean Runner.  Senor Frogs is also a great place and a must go to. Depends on what you like to do, but there is something for everyone. Me personally, I like to just lay around the resort and drink and tan all day.  Most of the resorts are set up nice for that and some are more party type than others and have drinking contests and music blasting. It all depends on the resort you are at.  When the sun goes down it's party time. The nightlife is out of this world. There are tons of clubs that cater to everyone. Some of the best are CoCo Bongo's, The City, Senor Frogs (not really a club more of a bar with a water slide), Dady O's, Dady, Rocks, Dos Equis Bar, Congo's are a few popular ones to name.  Keep in mind if you don't like to drink you wont' like the nightlife of Cancún.  It's all about partying. During the day it's fun to walk around all the little flea-market shops the locals have and get good deals on things. Also, you being a girl you can go to the shopping plazas such as Kukulkan shopping mall and you can get Chanel and/or Gucci purses/bags that are normally like $600 for about $60-$80. It really depends on what type of person you are, but there is a lot of things to enjoy in Cancún. Trust me once you get there you'll start seeing things and say to yourself oh I want to go there and I want to try that. There is a lot to do. Have fun....Cancún is the greatest place in the world.

  2. I have a link to our site with many, many fun things to do in Cancun. http://www.stayincancun.com/thingstodo.a...

  3. Click the link below to read about 80 things to do and see in and around Cancun.

Also, watch Mel Gibson's Apocalypto movie before you leave and then take the bus tour over to Chichen Itza when you get to Cancun.

  4. Haha first time I went to cancun I went there clueless. I didn't know what there was or what to expect. Once I got there I didn't want to leave.

Apart from the best tan you're ever gonna get in your life, you're gonna love the beauty. I think that pictures come short of what you really see in Cancun. The pure sand and the turquoise water will hypnotize you as you get a tan.

Anyways You can do a watersport. If It's your first time doing a water sport try it. it's a lot more fun than you think. rent a Jet-Ski and glide away in the crystal clear water.

The real cancun starts at night haha. The nightlife is great. you have many nightclubs to chose from. Coco Bongo, Dady O's are great clubs. and if you're looking a little familiar Margaritaville is there too. (u don't have to be 21 by the way :D a good bribe always does the job)

Shopping ehhh I don't really like it in Cancun. I would prefer Las Vegas to do the shopping. But if you're looking for cheap accessories and gifts to take Then you'll find it on Blvd. Kukulcan.

Hope ya have fun over there. Tan your heart out & use sunscreen.

  5. theres a whole bunch of stuff do do there. If young and looking to party or just looking for a nice beach i would reccomend heading down to playa del carmen for a day. theres a really nice big beach with alot to do on it called mamitas beach. If you are looking for a more relaxing place about 30 minutes south of playa del carmen is a city called Tulum. It has Mayan ruins right on the cliffs over looking the ocean. It has a very nice beach( the water there is a nice turquoise color.)

  6. I'd recommend four things (in no particular order):

    1. There's a water activity centre for all the hotels in the hotel zone and if you go there you can rent a jetski or motorboat and do a tour of the lagoon (guided, with a small group).  We had a ball doing that!  There's about 20-30 mins of shallow water snorkelling involved in some or all of these tours, but no one forces you to do it. The fish are beautiful though, so it's really worthwhile, but even if you don't, there's a tonne of other stuff to see and the jetskis are a hoot.

    2.  Take the catamaran tour over to Isla Mujeres and when you get there, rent a golf cart to scoot around in and visit pubs and the turtle sanctuary and everything else there is to see there.  It's amazing, and the catamaran crowd is super fun -- even more so on the way back when everyone is a little more chilled out.

    3.    If you have time and you don't mind a 2hr bus ride, go down to Xel-Ha for a day.  It's the most amazing water park, with tube rafting, hammocks on a deserted beach cliff, iguanas everywhere, cliff jumps, bikes to ride -- just a lot of stuff you can do at your own pace.  The snorkelling there is really good too but you said you don't do that so I won't elaborate. :)  Tip:  Remember to have something dry and warm to wear on the bus on the way back because the air conditioning can freeze your *** off.

    4.  Walk the beach!  You'll pretty much get a tan just walking up and down the beach, checking out the other properties and people watching.  If you stay in the hotel zone, there are no natural boundaries or fences to stop you from walking pretty much the whole length of the beach, and when I was there the tide didn't come in so far that it would stop you either.

You're going to have so much fun!!  Hasta la vista!!!

  7. You should definitely go to Tulum if you have time.  It is about a 2 hour bus trip south.  It is worth it though.  There are Mayan ruins right on the blue water.  Absolutely gorgeous.
