the English comment is rubbish.that is an immature comment of Glasgow and Scots alike.Glasgow is a city like any other museums,art galleries,nice buildings and fantastic bars restaurants and night clubs.there is something for everyone and the people are friendly.the best place to find out whats worth doing while you are there is ask the locals in bars ,cafe etc tourist board has great info

Glasgow is the largest and best retail centre in the UK outside of London. There are also so many great pubs, clubs and restaurants you will be spoiled for choice. Hope you all have a great time!

How long have you got?

Kelvingrove Museum - well worth a look for the building & surrounds alone, plus its free to get in.

The west end in general is very pretty and has quite a few nice shops, bars restaurants etc. Head for Hillhead undergound - you're in the west end and can walk to the Kelvingrove museum from there if you've got a map.

Walk up and down Buchanan street. Glasgow's got good fashion shops. Princess Mall is worth a look and Arggle Arcade (both down the Argyle street end of Buchanan street).

On a weekend you can get cheap underground tickets - ask at the ticket office.

Bars-wise depends what you're into but you could try Bath Street - there's a lot of places along there. Or Merchant City.

And its very friendly, don't listen to what that other guy said!
