  1. CeBit, Hannover Industrie Fare, Herrenhausen, Maschsee, but sorry Hannover is the most boring town in Germany. There is nothing negative but there is also nothing positive. One thing positive they do speak the best German.

    Greetings from Hamburg, Germany

    Heinz

  2. I only know of things NEAR Hannover:

10 miles to the south, you'll find Schloß Marienburg, which is breathtakingly beautiful.

40 miles to the east, there's Wolfsburg, where the Volkswagen people have built a huge theme park around cars ("Autostadt").

But I'm sure a city the size of Hannover has lots to offer.

Have a look at their tourism homepage:

  3. I'm quite sure that a city the size of Hannover has nothing to offer than being a city. I was there several times at the CeBIT, Europe's largest computer fair, and besides of that, Hannover is quite a dull industrial city in the dull northern German plains. If there are Hannoveranians around, please correct me; but why must it be Hannover? Germany has beautiful cities of about that size. Even Mannheim or Bielefeld (so I was told) are better than Hannover.

Do you HAVE to go there, or is it your free choice? If the latter: Reconsider.

  4. hannover is known here in germany as the most boing city-like canberra in australia

  5. It is a heavily industrial town, and that is what you get.  However within very short distances, 20-40km there are fantastic little towns, villages,...

A little further, try Bremen, Cologen, and the drive by the reine.
