What are these points 4 on yahoo answers

The main idea behind the points (as far as I can see) is to encourage people to answer questions and to answer them WELL (hence the 10 point bonus if you get picked as best answer). I don't really care how many points I've got.... although I admit that if I get picked as best answer there's a wee bit of thrill there.  ;o)  Haha.

They increase as you answer questions. They allow you to rate answers after you get to a certain number. I find them to be rather pointless though.
