  1. Bush promised to balance the budget, but emergency spending EVERY YEAR has thrown off his total plan... if you can call it that...it was far fetched to start with

  4. are we talking about the income and expenses of the yearly budget or the national debt? The yearly budget doesnt mean much when you owe 9 trillion and paying interest

  5. im not sure what he is talking about, but its gonna take longer than three years to come back from the biggest deficit in teh history of the country. there will be no 2011 surplus.

    The Senate Budget Committee Republican estimates — as well as similar estimates issued this month by both the House Budget Committee and Senate Budget Committee Democratic staffs — show a projected surplus of $1.8 trillion or $1.9 trillion over the 2002-2011 period.
