  1. the first one is binomial and the second is trinomial

  2. 1)

    2(x + 1)

    = 2*x + 2*1

    = 2x + 2 (2x and 2, two terms totally)

    (it is a binomial)

    2)

    x + 5(2x + 5)

    = x + 5*2x + 5*5

    = x + 10x + 25

    = 11x + 25 (11x and 25, two terms totally)

    (it is a binomial)

  3. PROBLEM 1:

    2(x + 1)

    = 2x + 2

    Answer:

binomial (two monomials 2x and 2)

    PROBLEM 2:

    x + 5(2x + 5)

    = x + 10x + 25

    = 11x + 25

    Answer:

binomial (two monomials 11x and 25)

  4. A monomial is a polynomial with one non-zero term. Example: 3x

    A binomial is a polynomial with two non-zero terms. Example: 3x² + 14

    2(x+1) = 2x + 2

    Two terms: binomial.

    x + 5(2x+5) = x + 10x + 25 = 11x + 25

    Two terms: binomial.

  5. First as it is, is monomial in x+1 and second as it it is, or as 11x + 25 is a binomial.

2(x+1) is one term only. While the second has 2 terms
