What is this 'magnet power'?

Someone (who was on a course that I was doing) mentioned to me a while ago that there is an alternative to fossil fuels that is free to produce in the home. They told me that there is a device that you can buy exclusively that can power most of your home on magnetic energy, therefore saving a LOT of money.

They also told me that power companies and governments are unwilling to release this information because they make MUCH more money as things are than they ever will if they 'came clean'.

It all sounds pretty plausible, and I'm basically asking if any of this is true, and if so, where can I find out more information?

Just Google it, there is a lot of information on it and some small scale generators have actually been tested, but nothing has made it to market yet.

False.  There is no such thing as free energy, from magnets or otherwise.  That's simply a conspiracy theory with no basis in reality.

it is true. I knew of this a few years ago. A man was working for some electric company and he was making progresses finding a clean cheap energy source and when he did he was fired and the project was shut down. It is possible to do this but the government and companies are making lots of money from this so they keep it a secret. Unfortunately i don't know how it works or how you can make it but I hope you find out. It is true.

Magnet energy = electric

a wire cutting a magnetic field induces a current - this is the basis of all generators.

but you need energy to move the wire through the magnetic field.

if you can get energy for nothing you will have invented perpetual motion, the laws of time & space will collapse and we will disappear in a vauge puff of plausability

No it is not true and the fact that people talk about it on the web or face to face does not make it true.

Magnetism is a force like gravity but it is not a source of energy.  It only enables you to turn one form of energy into another and in the process you will lose part of the energy in friction or other leakage.

I should like to endorse what some other contributors have said - do not be fooled into putting any time or money into something like this.  It is a scam.
