My GPA percentage is 91.386 for one of my high school years and I get different answers. I get 3.5, 3.9, and 4.0. For the study abroad application I'm filling out, I need to be as accurate as I can.

  1. Rach's system doesn't work - 50/100 = 2/4, but a 2.0 is a C and 50 is a failing grade.  You can't directly convert percentage to a 4.0 GPA.  91 is in the A range, so if all of those grades had been A's, you have a 4.0 - but if any of them were not, you don't.  You have to go back, convert each of your percentage grades to a letter grade on your school's system, convert each of those to the 4.0 scale, multiply by the number of credits the class was worth, add them all up, and divide by the total number of credits.

  2. Just figure out the ratio:

Assuming youre talking 91 out of 100 total points, you have

    91.386/100 = ???/4

    so... 91.386x4/100 = 3.655 on a 4.0 scale.

    Does that help?
