  1. it looks like some sort of electrical sub station,it will be fine as there are already houses in the area so all sorts of tests and checks would have been done to make sure this is enviromentally safe and healthy.

  2. Think its an electrical substation.yes and no.

  3. it looks like a transformer sub station ,it takes high voltage and reduces it to levels that can be used in your home no problems. However if you feel threatened move to an area that has no electricity eliminate all the comforts of electrical appliances and than you may feel safe. These types of structures are everywhere if you have any electrical power going into your home many neighbourhoods have what appear to be homes but are actually these types of buildings to fit into the city.

  4. You should stay grounded to the earth at all times :P

  5. I would go with my own version of the 'Precautionary Principle' if you have a choice.

  6. can't make it out in the pic, maybe generators in which case perfectly harmeless.

  7. Sorry but what are we supposed to be looking at

  8. It's a local substation for your electricity supply..

perfectly safe, (as long as you don't break in and start climbing up things) :-)

  9. Safer than the new light bulbs they want us to use that contain mercury and if one is broken then a hazmat team has to be called in to clean up but hey if it stop global warming then it must be OK.

If you feel unsafe wear a helmet made of aluminum and stop using a cell phone line your house with bubble wrap and seal all your windows with plastic and tape. It is a dangerous world out there and no one should feel unsafe. you should also stop driving or riding in any vehicle that is not pulled by a domesticated animal or just walk it is safer in the long run. Be afraid be very afraid.

  10. It looks like an electricity sub-station.

  11. i completely disagree with most of you. i would never live near power station ESPECIALLY with children. people who live too close to power stations tend to be more depressed. also there are studies out there that link cell phones to certain types of cancers and other brain problems. if the small amount of current going thru cell phone can cause problems, just think what living near a powerful power station can do. i suggest research subject beyond this forum if you want the truth. personally the thought of millions of volts of electricity (which does NOT stay inside cables) scares the c**p out of me.

final note. go to the power station you plan on living next to get out a lawn chair and sit down outside the fence for a few hours and document how you feel every 30 minutes or so (and be honest with yourself!) and you will have your answer.

  12. looks like an electricity sub station. safe to live next to if your kids dont go in it but could be noisy

  13. I can see they are power lines. I don't think this would be safe. You never know what could happen to your health living this close to electrical currents. We passed on a home in Washington because of similar circumstances.
