What is this background task?

Can anyone tell me what bgsvcgen.exe is and how to turn it off?

idk what it is, but 2 turn it off, press ctr+alt+del and select task manager.  Then go 2 the processes tab, and click on the process (bgsvcgen.exe) and click on "End Process"

It's a background task run by the program B`s Recorder GOLD8

Do you have administrative rights to your computer?  I'm assuming you're running Windows.  Go to your Administrative Tools and then Services.  You should be able to disable the service.  There's also a way to check the registry to take out the startup, however, I generally don't recommend going in to the registry without being a little more advanced!

bgsvcgen.exe is a B's Recorder GOLD Service Library from B.H.A Corporation belonging to B`s Recorder GOLD8

To turn it off, uninstall "B's Recorder Gold8" or "TMPGEnc DVD authoring software".
