A couple of days ago, I started noticing this bad taste in the back of my throat, and i kind of can smell/taste it in my sinuses. I am brushing my teeth and chewing gum like a lunatic and it keeps coming back. I'm pretty sure it happens when flem goes down my throat. I know the obvious answer is a sinus infection, but I dont have any other signs. I feel fine. HELP !! how can I get rid of this? It is driving me crazy. Are there any home remedies?

  1. A good way of getting rid of bacteria in the throat is to eat live yogurt. Just the plain stuff you can get from the health food store.

  2. Bacteria is responsible for the smell you are experiencing.  Since you've been brushing, flossing and chewing gum, and haven't mentioned any tooth pain, redness or swelling in your mouth, it probably is stemming from the more posterior area.  Have you checked your tonsils for white patches or hardened deposits in the crevices?  Some people develop "tonsil stones," which can also give off a foul odor.  Another possible source could be strep throat, which often gives off a very distinct odor (a strep test at a physician's office can rule that out).  Your sinuses could be the culprit as well.  There are several over-the-counter sinus cleanse preparations available to flush the areas (Sinocleanse, Netipot).  I'll include the link for Netipot, since you've asked for home remedies.

  3. Try Gargling baking soda

  4. That not normal, you should probably see a Dr!

  5. IDK

  6. Go see an M D, eye, ear & throat specialist.

  7. I would go see a dentist, it's possible you have a pocket of bacteria in your gums or perhaps in a crack of an old filling or something. This causes a super nasty taste! Brushing won't do it...hope that's all it is for you! :o)
