So I have no idea what kind of bird this is....Ive never seen any type like this in my area. It let me get really close to it, I tried to give it some bread but it wouldnt eat. When I reached out with a piece of bread it ran a bit and flapped its wings, but didnt fly...its still there now and it has been hours. It was all wet too because it had been storming which makes me think its hurt or something and has been there for a while...I attached some links to a pic of it maybe someone can identify it.

  1. Its a domestic Rock Pigeon and I would try and capture the pigeon and put him in a warm place. He or she can't probably can't fly because the wing feathers are too wet, a bird can't fly very well if it's feathers are too wet and he or she looks really wet. Dry him off and when the weather is perfect, let him outside and see if he flys away. Sometimes Rock Pigeons are kept as pets. More info on these birds here.

  2. looks like it might be albino with the red around the eyes.

it might just be stunned from the storm.

or you could call a vet.

  3. Thats a pigeon

  4. To me it looks like a white homing pigeon. Some people release them at weddings and other events because they look like white doves. It looks like he got disoriented or battered by the storm. You may want to call a wildlife rehab place, you can search this listing by state:

http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contact.... or your local police department.

If you need to capture the bird a good method is to take a sheet and throw it over the bird, and gently but quickly bundle it up. I wouldn't do that unless it's being threatened by cats or getting close to a road and can't fly. Good luck!

  5. ok so definatly a babby albino crow or ravin thats wy its scruffy and cant fly.

you are very lucky to be so clos to an albino crow/ravin,very very rare, take it to the vet but cince its albino it probably wont live:(

    an albino crow-

  6. It looks more like a Diamond Dove, the skin around the eyes is a DEAD giveaway!!!!

Put a cardboard box, that looks very dark inside... Maybe try cutting a hole in the flaps bigger than the bird, then closing the flaps.

Surround it on all other sides so it goes into the dark box. It will eat seeds and stuff, Then put an ad out in your local newspaper for it's owner. Diamond doves are slightly rare, so it's owner's prolly looking for it.

Here's a pic of a white diamond dove.

  7. Awww ok well get a cardboard box and try and get the little guy in it...I can't identify it but you could help it. Bring him in to your local shelter and if it's not serious they can patch him up and send him on his way and he can live the rest of his life happily ;)

  8. Sorry can't help with identifying it - try calling your local animal shelter.

If it won't let you get near, do you have a cardboard box or something you can place nearby so it can get out of the rain ?

Unfortunately only very sick or badly injured birds usually let you get close enough to pick them up - if you can get close - its not a good sign.

Call you local SPCA or vet clinic and ask their advice, get it something to shelter in in the meantime if you can.

  9. i know alot about birds and not sure what this is.there is something wrong if you can catch it take in box to aspca that would help they would take care of it. not sure what it is though and not sure where you are from but take care and get it help thanks for caring they say.

  10. WOW thats cool

  11. It looks sort of like my friend's pet dove but smaller. if you can catch it in a shoe box, you should take it to an animal shelter so they can take care of it.

  12. It's some type of pigeon oor dove, and they are seed eaters,so if you have some birdseed, offer it some.It probably got waterlogged and will fly away tomorrow. It may be an escaped pet, though,so maybe check with a local pet store and ask them.keep it in a box or cat carrier and keep it warm in the meantime.Offer it some seed and water in a shallow dish.

  13. This is so sad, makes me teer up! I wish I knew but I don't. I think thats great that u care about the bird. There  is prob nothing u can do if his wing is broken or something.

If it keeps storming, maybe lay flat a cardboard box and put the bread inside. Good luck.....poor guy:(

  14. At first it looked like a Dove but in the other pictures it looks more like a albino crow or Raven,    You should call your Animal control group or a local ASPCA or a Vet so they can pick it up and help it!

It looks like a baby but i cant be sure since it was wet!  Like i said be carefull because even though it looks harmless it is still a wild animal!

    Hope that helps some!  :)

  15. Thats a dove.

    Probably someones escaped pet.

It probably has its wings clipped because of it being someones pet.

That would explane it not flying.

You need to catch it, and take it to a wildlife rehabber ( even though its prob someones pet ) it could very likely be hurt.

But if you just leave it then its almost 100% positivly going to get eaten by a cat/dog/coon/etc.... by morning.

    GOOD LUCK!

    HOPE THIS HELPED!!!

  16. I think it may be a pigeon here is a picture.

  17. I don't know what type of bird it is, but it's albino and, if you were able to catch it and it wasn't flying away, stunned. Just leave it outside and check up every half hour to an hour. You may want to try putting a heat lamp on it if you have one though.
