I can't see the picture, but is it a clamp type key ring with a retractable part on a hinge?  Then it is a carabiner

I think its called a carabiner. I don't know exact name but I call it. It might be called a climber clip or binder clip. But I use one to hold my keys on my belt. I'm pretty sure its carabiner.

Yeah, it's a carabiner.  It's not traditionally for keys.  It's a rock climbing implement used to hold ropes in place.  THey are usually a bit larger and thicker to do the job right.  Somebody thought it would make a cute key chain, so there you have it.
