What is it called when people put chair-railing type material in big rectangles on their walls? I've seen it most often in dining rooms. I can't find any pictures of it. I'm not talking about wainscoting, I know that. Does anyone know what I mean?

  2. it IS actually called wainscot panelling like this:

    it is frequently 'simulated' by nailing frames of picture moulding under the chair rail instead of the panels.
