My 1993 Nissan Altima is making a very annoying ticking noise and this is where it is coming from. What is this thing?

  1. It's an ECM (Engine Control Module).

  2. looks like either heater core hose or vacuum line toward the climate controls.

  3. I've seen lot's but this I don't know.

  4. It looks like part of your suspension if it is a 5 speed.. not sure tho

  5. Where exactly is this part?

  6.   I don't know what the picture is of, but where is the ticking coming from? Open the hood and run the engine- listen for the ticking.

Sometimes a lifter will act "lazy" and not pick up the oil it should to run quietly.

I have had a soft tick in my engine (99 Dodge Caravan) for a few years now, with napparentnt ill effects.

  7. not a very good picture but it looks like the wiring harness inside your car, it's not really a part. Try a better picture and send it to my e-mail.

  8. Engine Control Computer is located:

Front seating area, center, under dash, front of console, mounted on floor panel
