  2. The coin is from Italy and denominated 1000 lire. However, it's no longer legal tender as Italy has, since 2002 been using the physical Euro currency. You coin looks circulated, and valued at about $.75 to $1 among collectors. There are 2 varieties of this 1000 lire coin, one with an error map of Germany and the other with the corrected map. Both are valued the same. I won't be able to tell your variety from the images though, as they're not sharp. A very nice coin to have.
