What is this cult possibly b rate movie?

I don't remember the movie very well because I was young when i saw it. The one scene I remember has the lead character brushing his teeth to cover up the fact that he ate a hamburger. He was pretending to be vegetarian to please his girlfiend. I think this movie came out in either the late seventies or early eighties.
