Hello,

I posted this picture:

in Barry's question to illustrate what a dumb question/statement was, but then, what an embarassment! I erm, we-eell, I don't actually know what it is. Do you?

I guessed radio thingy, something to do with ECU, or speed trap detector - but I'm clueless really.

Cheers

  1. i think it makes it go faster........LOL

it looks like a transponder for lap times and positioning while on the track.......

  2. It could be a transponder used to monitor and track lap times throughout the race or practice session.  These are common and necessary during motorcycle racing but this one looks like a much more expensive version than the ones we use.

  3. I have absolutely no idea... But it does look good, now doesn't it? :)

  4. It is a windup s***w. Non Harly Davidson's use this to power their bikes. Especially that j*p junk.

  5. Hi Dingo. It looks like the antenae for the transponder, which is behind the nose.It looks rather obtrusive though. So my guess is as good as anyones.

  6. You were right the first time babe, it's a roll of gaffa tape !!!

Not 100 % sure, so ill hold my judgement for the time been.

I never thought, I would see a 250 + BHP MotoGP weapon with studded Ice tyres ! http://www.superbikeplanet.com/image/arc...

  7. Hi Dingo I'm going with Barry M on this one I think Its a real time transponder. bigger than the Required one for lap times. It is probably sending a heap load of data back to the boys in the pits. Didn't they put like radios in the back protectors once over. I think its the next step. I doubt it will be on the bike come racing. It would be a contravention of the tail dimensions.

Bloody h**l that sounded like I knew.   but I'm only guessing.

  8. Yes. I do know. The Ducati emblem is called the Golden Eagle.

  9. i dont know i didnt understand your question

  10. Hmmm, Trying to solve the mystery of the "Black Box" on the back of the Ducati(did i spell it right).

Maybe it's a Cellular antenna for real time computer monitoring and diagnostics and communications and video relay(all in one smash proof box).... That's my best guess.
