everytime i go to the dominican republic for vacation and come back to my home i feel sad and depressed. i feel like a piece of my heart is left in the dominican republic everytime i leave and its like i dont ever want to leave the country because i get a strong feeling of belonging in the dominican republic. what is this called im curious because i know other people that experience the same when they leave their homeland.

I get the same exact way when I go to London. But with me, I think it's because most of my past lives were there. So when I return to London in THIS life, I feel the past tugging at my soul. It's very hard to describe, but it sounds the same as what you're saying. Once I return to the states, it seems like I'm just "out of whack" and depressed as h**l for atleast 2 weeks. My advice is, if you feel connected to the Dominican Republic, check into what it would take to move there. Seriously. Obviously something there is calling to your soul. Sell your belongings and go for it!
