What is this flower?!

ok so i found this flower when i was at the ohio state fair and id really like to know what it is and maybe a little bit about it to if possible.

by my calculations it looks like a purple orchid

Is it Swamp Rose Mallow ?

It might be a different strain of the same plant.

it is a hibiscus. some are tropical, and some are perennials to your area. the perennial hibiscus include the rose of sharon, texas star, kopper king, and lots more. also confederate rose is a perennial in the warmest parts of ohio
