Question:

What is this gauge on my boat?

I have a new boat, and all the gauges are self-explanatory except one: it has an icon composed of a circle bisected horizontally by a wavy line (apparently indicating liquid of some sort). There are arrows above and below the circle, both pointing at it.

Thanks in advance to the knowers!

  1. That would have to be a trim Gauge indicating the angle of the trim~

  2. it might be a trim gauge to tell you that your drive is either trimmed up or down. if it's not, then I don't know. check the owners manuel, since it's new.

  3. it most probably shows port/startboad pitch in degrees...though, i would expect a good quality marine compass to give you that.

if its not that, its probably true wind direction or VMG velocity made good if its hooked up to a GPS.

give me an email with a pic if you want.btw, what size/type of boat is it?

  4. Sounds like a trim gauge, but that wouldn't be nearly so useful on that boat as a water pressure gauge.
