What is this - it sometimes happens?

when i eat anything - sweet mostly

my jaw suddenly hurts - so i have to stp eating -

it feels like - eating a cake - 1 small mouthfull - ouch - jaw suddenly hurts!!

why? what is it

ages ago i asked my dentist - he said it was stress - but it comes and goes randomly

  1. Stress can be random -  


  2. It could be TMJ related or possibly a salivary gland problem.  If the condition persist or worsens, discuss this more thoroughly with your dentist.

    Additional information:  Usually when there is pain while eating sweets it involves decay.  Pain during mastication is a TMJ condition that is treatable but isn't related to eating sweets, thus my thoughts on a salivary gland problem.

    It could also be that you need a pterigoid release

    you can have that with a polarity practitioner

  6. i get that with really sweet lollies like star burst...if i persist through the pain, keep eating, it goes away. it's wierd and annoying...and i don't have ne fillings or cavities!
