What is this lumpy white stuff?

I get this scratchy-ness in my throat. I have found a way to scratch my throat. When that happens, something seems to comes up my throat. This stuff is usually small and whitish. Sometimes it smells foul. It has a fatty texture but it's firm. It's not squishy. What is this stuff? Does this come from my stomach? Why?

I have this same problem- well, It hasn't happened in a long time but anyway, my tonsils have a funky shape. What happens is they catch food particles and just kind of sit there for a while. Yeah, it's gross, but it's really nothing to worry about. Do go to the doc just to be sure tho.

it's normal.. it happens to me also.. and a few other people I know. I've also wondered what it is. I have been told it has something to do with the tonsils. like if food gets stuck in there and after a while you'll cough it out.. smells nasty lol. but its normal and you're fine!

It sounds like you have a problem with you tonsils. They may be infected. I would go to the doctor. I am a Doctor. Trust me.

It's the same c**p that builds up on teeth and is caused by bacteria breaking down remnants of food.
