What part of the picture are you looking at? Some things are made of wood and some are fabric. The room is to crowded to know what you are talking about

I work in the film industry and yes that is infact a screen also known as a sike, the one in the pic is made up of 1"x 2" pine strippes known also as furing strips and the material is white spandex. Yes spandex its and easy project to do all you need is the wood, fabric, some joiner plates (which you can get at any hardware store) a stappler and a screwdriver. its lit from behind by a few uplights which can be bought at lowes or home depot for about 10 bucks each.

yes.. its just a wood frame, with an inexpensive white curtain, sheet,  fabric,  stapled to the back side of the frame

It is a screen.  I think you are talking about that.  You can make it no problem.   If you are experiencing make projects yes but it seems you might not be.  So I would get a carpenter to make the frame and you can staple in the fabric of your choice and change it down the road
