Question:

What is this mythical creature called?

I'm looking for the name of a creature that latches onto a human and drains both their physical and spiritual energy, often transposing or swapping malidies with the person they have attached themselves to; so if the creature has a cut or an illness, they will "give it" to the person they have latched onto in exchange for that person's health, but if the person is sick themselves the two just end up swapping illnesses. While they mostly exist in the spiritual realm and have no definate physical form, they can take a humanlike physical form and often need to when a massive transfer of energy or healing is needed. A connection to one does not leave physical marks and the only real sign of such an attachment is the victims almost drug-like addition or desire for a certain item, location, or person.

I rememeber reading a story, from the time of the Black Death, about one years ago, but translator said it was only one of many stories that are centuries old.

  1. i would guess some kind of old hag syndrome, Its when your sleeping and you wake up paralyzed. the whole next day you feel weak and tired. it has been around for a long time and in all place in the world.

  2. lt could be a pisaacha, which is the first link. lt's a relatively tame spirit that drains health, however it must be noted that spirits often latch onto a human being without much drastic effect for the human to take notice of and don't leave until commanded to. So for a person unwary for a long time, it isn't as harmless as it should be.

SOME people claim themselves as psychic vampires who do the exact same things you mentioned, even if they have a physical form.

From your passage, it seems this spirit not only drains the person but also makes the person addicted to it's pressence. l recalled that it was an unintentional side effect on the spirit's behalf, the taking a human form part sounds like a Doppleganger though these spirits are generally up to no good.

lf you do find out what spirit this is, IM me alright l also want to know.

  3. havent the brightest but maybe if u want one that sucks all happiness and leaves u with the worst of memories u could try dementors

  4. outer limits had 2 episodes that had something like that... no name given though...they were just people with powers

  5. Mythologically the Incubus (male)or Succubus (female) come closest to what you describe. In medieval clerical belief it is a male/female spirit who visits at night provoking their victims lust. According to British legend Merlin is the offspring of such a union because his mother refused to tell who lay with her. He became known as 'the boy who has no father'.

However, there is another phenomena known as the 'pyschic or energy vampire'  it is a term used to describe someone who is believed to suck mental and physical energy from a person. This can be done quite unconsciously through the presence of a needy, ill or depressed person or it can be done by a concerted spiritual attack from a third person who has a grudge against someone.

Have you ever felt yourself 'drained' after spending time with someone who demanded all your attention - an unexplainable feeling of low spirits and/or tiredness - that is the effects an energy vampire leaves with you.

For your purposes though I think it is the medieval theory that suits best.

  6. This, I believe, was the original form of a Vampire, and the idea behind the story of Count Dracula. Like most of those old myths, it was modified and adapted to the 'tastes' (sorry) of the readers of the time by Bram Stoker.

  7. Fair minded republician.

  8. You should start to read some love novels

  9. Homonculus? Secubus?

  10. Hmmm... I'd say, succubis, incubis, or collections agent.

  11. Alien.

  12. Sounds like an Incubbus/succubus which are male and female forms of demons.  Incubbi's and succubi's are the medieval term for them, nowadays we call them Psychic Vampires.

Yes, they are real!  They drain a persons energy or 'life force' leaving their victims listless and lethargic.  Some psi vamps get their energy from having s*x, some dream-walk this is when a vampire enters your dreams and drains your energy.  The older ones are more experienced, they can go without a feed for longer than the younger psi vamps.  They sometimes get their energy from nature (the elements) like fire, water etc..Whilst some psi vamps get their energy from a donor.

Check out psychic vampires on google or something.

  13. That sounds like a succubus, they mimic human form and drain the life and energy from you

  14. that kind of sounds like a changling

    little awful creatures

that take the form of little children

who kidnap real children and take their place

feeding off of the mothers both physically and spiritually.
