my guinea pig has this weird thing on his stomach. It hasn't been there all his life. I picked him up a couple weeks ago and I noticed it. I got him about 2 years ago and he was a baby. Bought him from a pet store. I thought it would be his male part but I goggled it and his is much bigger than the pictures and they say it would have showed up much earlier. I need help because I don't know if he has something wrong with him or it really is his male part.

  1. That is your piggie's p***s. Normally, it retracts and stays inside. If your piggie's p***s is sticking out like this all the time, you need to see the vet because it can cause severe irritation and infection if left exposed like that all the time.

You also need to trim your piggie's nails. They are incredibly overgrown and I can only imagine how painful it is for him to walk on them. The nails, at that length, cause his toes to have to turn unnaturally sideways. If you cannot trim them yourself, see a vet or groomer and have it done. It doesn't cost that much.

  2. With male guinea pigs his 'bits' will be right near the bottom. You can see where his bottom is, and then that joins up to where his p***s and testices are. You can not usually see a male guinea pigs p***s, put if you gently squeeze his belly it will pop out. This could be what you are seeing. It is hard to tell without a picture.

If there are any strange lumps and bumps you should defiantely take him to be checked out by a vet, he could have an infection, a tumor, etc and will need treatment.

  3. It could be a tumor

  4. It's his wiener. But its not supposed to be sticking out so far like that all of the time. Is it always sticking out that far?

  5. I'd say male parts.  Ruptured intestines, the other common thing would have killed him by now, and a tumor also, most likely would have ended his life.  Try showing some pictures.

  6. All the things that 'Justified' said

+ if he is unable to draw his p***s back into his body it is usually because something is caught around it. Check that he doesn't have bits of hay or (much more likely) a ring of hair around it just further in.

Loose hairs from when he is grooming himself can become trapped in the folds of skin and form a ring - this will be very uncomfortable for him (and as Justified said, he will get infections if he can't draw his 'bits' back into his body where it belongs).

  7. Hm..... I don't think many people might know exactly what it is. Maybe oyu should take him to the vet if oyu can or something.

  8. I think its him male genital. try putting a female guinie pig in there, if he try's to mate, he just having a sperm overide
