What is this pain in the left side of my chest?

every now and then when im breathing il have a sharp pain on the left side of my chest, kind of above my breast.If i breathe in to far the pain gets worse. iM 16 and active. Does anyone know what it could be ?

Should i see a doctor?

it could b lung or heart patholgy.........

both have equal posibilities. consult ur doctor as soon as u can do....

It could be bronchitis or it could be a stitch.  You know when you run you get a pain sometimes that is called a stitch, but you should have it checked out, you could have something wrong with your lungs.

you may need to see a doctor.  That is where your lungs are. Do you have any problems with your lungs? like asthma ?

I get this sometimes also- its probably pleurisy

If you don't have any other symptoms other than the sharp pain, I'm sure you'll be fine

Most of the time when I get it, I breathe in and withstand the pain. The pain goes away soon.

If it doesn't come often, its probably caused only by dehydration.

However, if its an unbearable pain, and/or you have it almost daily, you should definitely consult a doctor
